Blog Design
I design and set up blogs for small businesses.
For most small businesses, I recommend using TypePad as the blog software, and creating a custom design for the header. I also help you set up sidebar links, RSS feeds and everything else that goes into creating a full-featured blog that your customers will appreciate.
From there, TypePad's software is easy to use. The tool set available is pretty similiar to Microsoft Word — bolding, italicizing, choosing font sizes. and constructing bulleted lists. There are some custom tools available for your posts as well — like image insertion tools, file uploading and links. There's even a spell checker. With these tools, you can just jump in and start posting to your blog after it is designed — even if you're not terrifically tech-savvy.
If you need more features, or want more of a custom design on your blog, I also work in Wordpress. It takes more initial effort to set up, partly because the design and coding is more involved. But, if you'll use the additional functionality, then it can be worth the effort.
